I have a First Edition Paper 8 x 8" Noir et Chic paper pad, I only use it on special occasions and my friend Carol's birthday was one of them, the paper pad is one of those that you look at and never use lol. This photo has actually washed out some of the actual colour but I was in a rush taking it before I had to take it to her tut, my own fault. The colour looks ivory but it is a more creamy colour, anyway it's double sided so I used the darker side for the background of the card. I cut out the panels using the Tonic dies and as I was making this card my latest edition of the Tattered Lace magazine came through the door and it has the vertical sentiment so as you can see I used the happy birthday in each of the outer panels.

The project club set for this month is all about Easter, but I think it will be used for lots of other projects as well. The set comprises of four sentiments, an egg, a chick, the chicks footprints, a daffodil, a lamb and a basket full of eggs. If you are interested in the project club visit the Nina Crafts website and enter your details or send an email for full details.
Project Club Stamps and Card Kit
Memento – Cantaloupe and Olive Grove (or any dark green and golden yellow ink)
VersaFine Onyx Black Ink Pad
Clear Embossing Powder
Colouring Pens/Pencils or Markers
Foam Tape or Pads
Double Sided Tape
Cut the A5 yellow card so it measures slightly smaller than the base card. Cut one of the pieces of white card so it measures slightly smaller than the yellow card. Using this piece of white card, the daffodil stamp and the golden yellow ink, stamp randomly all over the white card. Once dry matt the white stamped card onto the yellow card and attach to the card front using double sided tape.
Using the other A5 white card cut so it measures 10cm x 14.3cm. Dust this piece of card with the anti-static bag. Use the VersaFine ink to stamp the basket and the sentiment. Adding the embossing powder after each stamped image. Heat emboss and allow to cool before colouring the basket. Matt this topper onto the yellow card using double sided tape.
On the left over white card dust with the anti-static bag. Use the chick stamp and the VersaFine ink to stamp three chicks, adding the embossing powder after each. Heat emboss and allow to cool before colouring the chicks. Cut out the chicks, and leave to one side for later. In this picture you will see I didn't colour or cut out the feet, you can't see them in the finished card anyway and I left the last chick until the card was finished.
Use the green card to cut out three squares measuring 6cm x 6cm. Use the long strip of white card cut out three squares measuring 5.5cm x 5.5cm.
Stamp onto these three white squares the footprints using the green ink. Matt these white squares onto the green squares using double sided tape. Using PVA glue attach the chicks to the squares. Arrange the chicks in any position you like.
Attach these squares equally along the bottom edge of the card front using double sided tape or PVA glue. I attached the outer two first then the middle one, this helps me judge the spacing.
Ribbon - cut the ribbon so you have enough to fit across two of the corners making the bottom right slightly smaller, attach to the topper with double sided tape. I used a little tape on each end of the ribbon.
On the back of this topper stick a strip of foam tape to the top section and to the middle section. Along the bottom section use double sided tape. Because of the thickness of the squares we will only need double sided tape on the bottom section and the foam tape will make sure the topper is flat.
To finish I added some foam pads to the last of the three chicks and attached to the corner.

I really do like this little basket and for this card stamped it onto a Spellbinders - Decorative Labels Eight die cut shape, adding some Memento - Angel Pink to the inside edge before removing the card from the die. I stamped the basket with Memento - Tuxedo Black and coloured the eggs and the basket with my ProMarkers. I used some lilac foil card for the matts and raided my ribbon drawers to try and bring all the colours together. The background paper on the front and on the base of the card are from the mini paper pads collection from Craftwork Cards it's the Bon Bon pad and I also used the sentiments from the die-cut sentiment pad that matches the papers. I attached the sentiment, the foil strip and the topper section to the base card with foam tape and pads. The eggs and the basket bow were attached with 1mm and 2mm foam pads, finally the ribbon bow with eggs on was attached with a couple of glue dots, this ribbon was a freebie from a magazine and one of those I've had for ages and can't remember which magazine.

For this card I used the Tonic Circle Layering dies for all the layers including the card base. The top pale blue layer has been embossed using an Embossalicious folder. I added three of the eggs as the stopper for the base of the card. I have some really nice texture card and as you can see on the basket this one has a little weave on it, I stamped the basket using Memento - Tuxedo Black and cut off the eggs and added the chicks which I also stamped with the black. I coloured everything in with my favourite ProMarkers, adding a little brown to the basket.

I really do like to use swirls and flourishes they made very nice backgrounds. For this card I used some textured green card for the background and randomly stamped all over it using a swirly leaf stamp and some VersaMark, then heat embossing it with detail clear embossing powder. I used Memento - Tuxedo Black to stamp the lamb, the egg, the bow and the sentiment, double stamping the sentiment with a yellow ink to give it a shadow. I cut the sentiment Spellbinder shape from the Labels Ten dies, in half adding a green foil card matt, on top of this shape I added the Marianne Design Icicle shape die and coloured it green for the grass. The clouds are from Memory Box dies. The lamb I coloured with ProMarker but left his woolly coat white. After stamping the egg and the bow from the basket I coloured them in yellow then added the red dots, I outlined the dots with my Memento pen. I wanted the lamb to be eating the egg so cut out some teeth marks and again used the pen to colour the edges in.

For this card I found some sheep paper, it was a freebie from a magazine so used it for the background. I have a drawer that I keep all my cut out shapes that I haven't used on other projects so raided this drawer and found the shapes you can see in this card. They are Spellbinder shapes just layered together, I cut the end off the foil shape and stuck it at the top of the card, I had a couple of the ovals so cut one of those in half and stamped the sentiment before attaching to the top. The ribbon strip must have been for a sentiment matt at some time or other but I just added some double sided tape to the back and threaded the three egg shaped beads onto some 3mm ribbon and wound it around the card, attaching to the card front with foam tape. The lamb is stamped and coloured with Memento and ProMarkers, but I wanted to use some of my Forever Friends glittery paper for his coat. I stamped onto the glitter paper with Memento but it wasn't very bright, quite dull looking really, so I used my Memento pen and went over the stamped line making it stand out a lot better. I cut out the coat and the woolly bit on his head and attached them using some PVA glue, once dried I attached the lamb with foam pads. To finish I used some tiny Bling gems.

I do like this basket, very versatile, here I've made it into a flower basket. I used an Embossalicious embossing folder with some pearlescent card for the background. The basket was stamped onto a Spellbinder - Labels Seventeen shape using VersaFine ink, heat embossed with detail clear embossing powder and then coloured with ProMarkers. My ink pad is really weird, it should be a Vintage Sepia VersaFine ink pad because that's what I bought and that's what it says on the outside of the ink pad, but in fact it's a green colour, I think it's the Olympia Green tut. It worked well for this card though lol. The happy birthday stamp is an older stamp from as was Dimension Stamps (now Nina Crafts) but I like the size and the font. I did lots of flowers using the Small Flowers & Leaves dies from Lea'bilities. I finished them off with some red gems from Meiflower. I added some faux stitching to the edge of the label shape with a Memento - Angel Pink pen and to finish off added some glaze to the bow with a Sakura Glaze pen

I sometimes find it a little awkward making cards for someone else, but my friend Janice likes 'not too much fuss' lol, so I hope this card is OK for her to send. I used the Spellbinders - Create a Gerber Daisy with pink and green texture card, so I used the pink for the matt on both the inside and on the card front. I used the Cheery Lynn Design dies for the Happy and the Birthday, really useful these dies because you get two different sizes in each set. The numbers are the Memory Box Typewriter Number dies and as you can see I cut one full sentiment set in pink and another in the green so they could be the shadow, leaving the pink a little offset. I didn't want too much fuss in the corner so used the Elisabeth Craft Designs - Square with Circle Frame Edges dies, using the flourish frame die for the pink card and the plain frame in the green card. To finish this card I used some 2mm gems from Meiflower.

For this card I used the Accordion Oval Card dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs, as you can see just two ovals. I used some cream card for the base and some lilac pearlescent for the Oval Flourish Frame Edges also from Elizabeth Crafts, for the butterfly (Tattered Lace die) and for the letters (Memory Box upper and lowercase dies). The flower is the Spellbinders - Create a Gerber Daisy and for this I used some lilac textured card and some green for the leaves and the shadow letters. I also used this green for the little accent dies above and below the letters, that die shape is from the Spellbinders Die D-Lites - Frame One set. You can't really tell from this photo but I used some of the Memento - Lulu Lavender ink on the petals of the flower and the Memento - Pistachio on the leaves and in the middle of the flower, I really do like making these flowers they are a little time consuming but the finished flower is I think worth the effort. Once I'd attached the Flourish Edges to the base card I used a Quickie Glue pen and added some violet glitter to the inside of each of the shapes you can just make it out on the photo.

This is the card we did in class this month, I've posted one I did to show in class and the other one I made while there. The different backgrounds really do make a difference, I used some of the Vintage Rose Paper Pack from Craftwork Cards. This month I thought we'd use the Distress Inks to do a bit of watercolor on the stamped images. We also did some paper weaving to make the basket. The stamps are from the February project club stamps from Nina Crafts.
