Kraft Card

Quite a quick card this one, as you can see I used Kraft card in two shades.  I used VersaMark ink and detail white embossing powder.  The reindeer is from Nina Crafts and is called the Magic of Christmas, I also used the other reindeer with the design on it and that one is called Reindeer Greetings although I didn't take a picture of that one, it was just the same as the picture below.  I also used some postage stamps that we had in class in November.  To finish off this card I used a Sakura white gel pen to add the faux stitching around the base card.

Project Club Stamps

This is one of my favourite stamps this year and it's from the October project club, it's the sprig of holly.  I have also used the Holly Tree on the inside of the postage stamps, I made these using a punch, then masked off the outside edges using some sticky notes and then used the holly tree stamp to fill it in.  Once I'd stamped I used a Memento - Cottage Ivy pen and added the straight edges before removing the sticky notes, I then coloured the background of the holy tree with a Tea Green ProMarker.  I stamped the sprig and the holly tree using Memento - Cottage Ivy, used a red Sakura pen to colour the holly berries and used a Quickie Glue pen to add all the glitter.  The ribbon on the end of the sprigs are from a length of ribbon, I just cut them up and used them individually, I got quite a few out of that ribbon.
If you would like to join our project club visit the website and leave your details, or email for more information.

Baby Hedgehog

For this little baby boy card I used the plain little Hedgehog, once I'd coloured him in I cut out and matted onto some pale blue texture card, I think it was a Create and Craft card.  The background paper is from a Forever Friends paper pad, I used the Memento - Summer Sky ink around the edges, I also inked around a small piece of blue gingham paper I used for the corner.  I cut out a couple of hearts from the Spellbinder - Classic Scalloped and Classic Heart dies.  The banner is a die from Joanna Sheen's Signature range.  I used the Lowercase Kissing Alphabet from Nina Crafts.  The little boy word is actually in the hedgehog stamp set.  The safety pins are from my stash, I think I got them from Meiflower at one of the shows.  To finish off I used some brown gems also from Meiflower.

Class Card - December 2014

This is the card for December made at Nina Crafts.  We used the November project club stamps and the class stamp this month was the little tree, in fact it was two trees, the other being a little fir.
I've just been looking though the class card post and I haven't been posting them all for some reason, tut.  You will however find them on the Nina Crafts blog.  Happy Crafting.

Crafting Mavis

I can think of a few people to send Crafting Mavis to, all I would need to do is change the hair colour, sorry ladies lol.  I started off looking for a Spellbinder die that would fit this image, I found the Labels One die was just right.  I stamped using Memento - Tuxedo Black and coloured in using my favourite ProMarkers, I wanted her to look a little younger so did her hair in reds.  I also didn't want her to have falling down stockings so made the slippers and the stockings all one colour, they reminded me a little of Hug Boots.  I used some textured card for the matting so used a similar colour for her top adding a darker shade to make it look like she has a spotty top on.  Blue always goes well with pink so that's the colour I used for her desk.  She is definitely on a mission with all that card and paper on her desk, thinking of that made the wording pop into my head. So I cut some off cuts of white card and trimmed them down to 2cm wide and the pink matt is 3cm wide.  First I stamped the capital 'R' leaving a gap before it, my intention was to try and centre the text.  I used the new alphabet stamps Uppercase Kissing Alphabet and the Lowercase Kissing Alphabet, I have this thing about alphabets so I really do like these, they have both outline stamps as well as the solid stamps, what a bargin.  Anyway, I didn't like the layout when I aligned the strips of text so I used a sticky note and masked off the end of the 'Ready' strip, then stamped a section of the Mavis stamp and used the same colours I'd used in the main image.  As you can see I did the same for the other two strips but did the 'Steady' at the opposite end.  I used the Tonic Square Layering dies for the pink matt on the main image, so while they were on my desk I cut the ends of the strips into the flag shape.  I used my We R Memory Keepers corner Chomper on the ¼" to round the corners before matting onto the pink matt and shaping those in the same way.  The background is from a card/paper/vellum stack I've had for ages, I have a few, this one has pinks and lilac's in it, the paper I used has a gold tint on it as well as the pink flowers, I rounded the corner before attaching it to the card front.  I attached the 'Steady' using double sided tape and everything else with foam tape.  To finish off I used some Glossy Accents on her glasses, the spilt water, the glue and the paintbrush.  When dry I used a Quickie Glue pen and added some pink glitter, I dotted it all over because I don't know about you but I always get it everywhere.

Pud Pud

For this card I used one of the new stamps from Nina Crafts, it's call Pud Pud and has this corner cluster stamp that I stamped in both the top corners using Memento - Tuxedo Black and coloured with ProMarkers.  The stamp set comes with a pudding as you can see I used it in the middle of the card, I used the Spellbinders circle dies in both white and gold card.  Along the middle of the card I used an EK Success border punch for the stars. The sentiment is from the Swirly Christmas Words and once stamped I used a Quickie Glue pen and added some glitter to the sentiment, the pudding, the stars and puddings in the corners.  To finish I used some brown Card Candi's and cut some white ones in half with a wavy line, gluing them on top of the brown to make some little pudding, these I attached to the card front using some foam pads.

Zentangle Hedgehog

I wanted a really bright colourful card so used the Zentangle Hedgehog from Nina Crafts, with some primary colours on it.  As I was colouring this hedgehog a friend called for coffee and brought her four year old daughter with her, she saw the hedgehog and asked what I was doing.  I told her how I wanted the card to look and she wanted to help lol, she picked out the background card and paper, a bit loud for me but hey ho.  The green dotty paper has been cut using my Cuttlebug and the Tonic - Florid Circle die, I also wanted a little bit of grass so used the Marianne Design Icicle die.  The balloons are from the Docrafts Xcut range and the little ladybirds I've had in my stash for ages, they are some of those little wooden ones.  To finish I used a Glaze pen from Sakura on the nose and eyes.

Red and White Reindeer

This card sort of happened it wasn't planned it just turned into what you can see.  I started with the reindeer, it's from the Reindeer Greetings stamp from Nina Crafts.  I stamped it using VersaFine - Onyx Black and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I used ProMarkers to add a little colour to the holly and berries, then trimming the white card to the size you see, so I just had enough room to add the sentiment, again from the Reindeer Greetings stamps.  I used a Martha Stewart corner snowflake punch in each of the corners then matted onto some red foil card.   I used a Winter Wishes snowflake border die from Joy Crafts, cutting two and attaching them to the outer edges of some more red foil that I cut slightly smaller than the card front.  Luckily the topper fit with a little bit of trimming.  I then used a Quickie Glue pen on both borders and on the reindeer, adding glitter as I went along.  So not a lot to this card really.

Class Card - November 2014

This is the class card for November I made for Nina Crafts.
We used the October 2014 project club stamps for this card and the complimentary stamps that fit perfectly with this set are the Christmas Postage Stamps.  The envelope in the middle is actually red pearlescent but the photo hasn't picked it up, and this middle topper actually opens so you can write your message on the inside.
Have you noticed how many non-crafters don't know how to stand the easel card up properly.  I was given this little picture, so thought I'd share it with you, just cut it out and pop it into the envelope.
