Project Club - September 2014 ~ Main Card ~

The theme of this months project club over at Nina Crafts, is pamper yourself and relax.  So here is the main card
Materials Required
Project Club Stamps and Card Kit
Stamp and Stash Set
Memento – Tuxedo Black and Sweet Plum (or any lilac ink)
Double Sided Tape
Foam Pads/Tape or Silicon Glue
Glue Dots
Scrap Paper
Corner Rounder Punch

Use lilac ink and the bubbles stamp, randomly stamp the bubbles using second generation ink all over the front of the base card.  (ink up the stamp, first stamp onto the scrap paper, then stamp onto the card front.  This is called second generation stamping.)  Round the corners of the base card.
Follow the sizes in the picture below and cut out the white card.
Using black ink stamp the images as in the picture below onto the cut out shapes.
I started with the lady in the bath - colour and cut out as in the picture below.  If building up layers on an image I tend not to colour all of the lower layers just the outside edges.
Colour the bottle, candle and the mug.
Use the lilac ink and the pamper yourself stamp - stamp over the sentiment with second generation ink, slightly off set it.  This gives your text a shadow effect.
Round the corners on the lady in the bath image.   Cut a piece of coloured card so it measures 12cm x 10cm.  Using double sided tape attach the lady to this piece of card.  Round the corners before or after attaching.  Cut some ribbon so it wraps around the top right hand corner of this topper, attach the ribbon with double sided tape.
Cut two pieces of coloured card so they measure 4cm x 5.5cm.  Round the corners of the candles and the mug images.  Cut a piece of coloured card so it measures 4cm x 6.5cm.  Round the corners of the bottle image.  Cut a piece of coloured card so it measures 8.5cm x 3.8cm.  Round the corners of the sentiment.  Using double sided tape attach all pieces to the coloured card and round the corners before or after attaching.
Arrange the pieces on the card front attaching with foam pads or tape.  Use a ProMarker to colour the six card Candi's.  Once dry attach using a foam pad on the back of each Candi.
Slightly shape the first layer of the lady in the bath and attach with foam pads or silicon glue.
Slightly shape the second layer and attach with foam pads or silicon glue.
Make a bow with the remaining ribbon and attach with a glue dot or silicon glue.
That's it for this month, hope you enjoy your stamps, we are getting some very good feedback, so thank you for that.  If you would like details about our project club visit the Nina Crafts website for contact details.

Project Club - September 2014 ~ Blue Spinner ~

September project club card for Nina Crafts.

I used lots of pieces of left over paper for the background on this spinner card, just bits and pieces from past projects.  I cut them up into 2.5cm wide strips and stuck them onto some card I'd made just smaller than the base card.  I stamped the bottles first onto the round piece of white card using Memento -Tuxedo Black and then used the cup and candles to fill in the spaced in between.  I used ProMarkers to colour in, adding the word 'mum' on the front two candles using the Word Perfect stamps.  I used the Tonic layering Circle dies for the topper, Spellbinders - Ironwork Accents for the white corners, the hole in this die was just the right size to add a Papermania Dew Drop gem.  I used the Dew Drops on the sentiment as well, and the happy birthday is from one of the new stamps sets called Swirly Birthday Words.  I was going to add some flourishes but decided on just a single white feather.

Project Club - September 2014 ~ Relax ~

September project club card for Nina Crafts.

How many magazines have you bought and found loads of paper in them, well this paper background is one of them, I always think 'well I'll never use that' but actually when you've added all your other bits and pieces to a card front, it's not so bad.  I used the Spellbinder - Labels Twenty-Nine for the main topper shape, using the two largest of the die set to make the frame out of some textured card.  I also used a Spellbinder die set for the flourishes using white card and adding a little ProMarker on them, it is the Floral Flourishes set.  The flower is one of the new Create a .. collection also from Spellbinders and this one is the Gerber Daisy, it was the first time I'd used it.  I used some dark pink card and used a ColourBox Pigment Ink pad - Chiffon White on all the petals, the middle was cut out in the pink and I added some Memento - Tuxedo Black leaving little bits of pink visible.  I stamped the lady in the bath with Memento and coloured in with ProMarkers.  I used a Memento - Tuxedo Black pen to add the pattern on the bath, I used a Joggles stencil from Chocolate Baroque and just drew around the shapes in the stencil.  The sentiment was stamped with Memento and ProMarker highlights added, I also did a green ProMarker edge on the white card before matting onto the pink.  I added some glitter to the bubbly bits and the finish I added some green gems to the corners and a black gem on the flower.

Project Club - September 2014 ~ Outside ~

September project club card for Nina Crafts.

While having a look through my older stamps I found the window from the Christmas set back in November 2012 so some of you will still have this window.  I stamped it out onto some white card using Memento - Tuxedo Black and coloured sections of it in ProMarkers, I added some acetate to the back of the window with some of the red tape.  I cut some more white card the same size as the window and stamped the lady, colouring with ProMarkers and adding some glitter on the bubbly bits.  I then used some foam tape to stack both pieces of card.  The background paper is from an old Papermania collection (I think), I was going to make this in a 6x6 card but I found the brick card and so that is how the background turned out.  I forgot to add my ribbon before I stuck down the card, so cut the ribbon a little longer and frayed the ends before  adding to the card, adding a bow to the side.  The sentiment at the top has been stamped onto the background paper and cut out using Spellbinders - Standard Circles, matted onto Stately Circles.  I stamped and coloured the 'Do Not Disturb' sign, once cut out I matted onto some of the brick card.  To finish off I added some gold gems.

Project Club - September 2014 ~ Pink Bathroom ~

September project club card for Nina Crafts.

If I remember rightly this open window with curtains was a freebie stamp way back when and it came with the Four Season's stamps these were four trees, one for each season.  It was I think called A Room with a View.  Anyway, I had a look through my older stamps I found this one, David (hubby) said I should stamp a window cleaner lol but I couldn't find anything that would have worked, next time though.  So onto a piece of white card I stamps the lady in the bath then stamped the window over the top using Memento - Tuxedo black.  I then stamped them both again but this time onto a sticky note to make a mask of each.  I covered them both with the masks and used some Adirondack - Meadow and Cloudy Blue to do a little bit of a scene through the window adding a little sun as well, I didn't stress about it and it really could have been done a little better but that wasn't the main focus of the card.  Next I re-stamped the window onto some patterned paper and cut out the curtains, attached then to the piece of card with PVA glue.  Onto another piece of white card I stamped the lady in the bath and cut it out.  Onto the spotty paper I stamped the bath and cut out attaching with PVA, adding some shading with a ProMarker around the edges.  I also used a ProMarker to add a slight bit of colour to the cushion, and used some pink and white paper for her shower cap, it was a piece out of my scrap box, just enough to do the cap and the background, which I added a bit of ProMarker around the edges before matting onto the card front.  I attached the lady in the bath using some foam pads then added some Glossy Accents sprinkled with a little bit of glitter on the bubbles and on the foamy top of the bath and set aside to dry.  I stamped out the Do Not Disturb sigh and colour with ProMarkers, cutting it out leaving a little white border around the edge.  The flowers I made using some dies from Cheery Lynn and they are the Flourish Leaf Strip, the Medium  and the Miniature Roses.  I added a dusting of pink ink on the roses and green on the leaves, attaching to the card front with PVA.  To finish I used some Baker's Twine as the thread for the sign, which was attached with foam tape.

Pocket Bunny

To finish the knitting I did for a new baby, I just had to make a little toy, I really enjoyed doing this and I've now got to make some more for other people lol.  The pattern is from Craftsy and is very easy to folow.

Project Club - September 2014 ~ Lilac Birthday ~

September project club card for Nina Crafts.

I have a card block/stack that I've had for ages, so that is what I've used for the background, I was going to add some Distress Ink to the lower section of the card but once I'd finished the topper I decided to leave it and just add the ProMarker edge.  Onto a white piece of card I stamped the candles first using Memento - tuxedo Black, then stamped them again onto a sticky note before cutting them out, this made my mask.  I covered the stamped candles with the mask and stamped the perfume bottle and the cup of chocolate in the background.  I cut out the white card with the Spellbinders - Classic Oval dies, then used the Lacey Ovals for the lilac card.  The stamped image looked a little bottom heavy so I stamped both the cup and the bottle onto the sticky notes to make a mask for each and cut them out.  I then used the Extra Circle Words set of stamps and added the sentiment by first covering the bottle and the cup with the masks.  I then coloured in using ProMarkers before using double sided tape to attach the white card to the lacey matt.  I thought the lilac disappeared into the background so I used some purple foil card to make it stand out a little.  I used the Tonic Layering Ovals to cut the foil and as you can see they match very well with the Spellbinders.  I had bits of card left over, not quite enough to put a border right across the card front so I cut it short so it finished just at the back of the oval.  I stamped the Pamper yourself text and added a bit of a highlight using the same ProMarker I'd used for the cup.  I matted onto the lilac then onto the purple foil before attaching to the card front with double sided tape.  The oval is attached using some foam tape.  I made the bow and attached with glue dots before finishing off with some gems.

To go with the shawl and the cardi I also knitted these moc-a-soc booties from Craftsy and again I used the King Cole Dollymix DK yarn.

Carrying on with the baby and knitting theme here's a little cardigan made in cream, I bought a little off white dress to go with it from Mothercare.  This pattern is from Deramores, lots of lovely patterns to choose from and I used the King Cole Dollymix DK yarn.

Baby Card

For some reason the last post I did for this baby card disappeared.  So this is a quick overview of the dies I used, for the shoes I used Marianne Design.  The hands, feet and the border are all Joanna Sheen Signature Dies and the hearts are from Spellbinders.  The background paper is from a Forever Friends paper pad.  The bow and gems are from Meiflower.

Knitting again

Another shawl, from a very old pattern that's been in my family for years and years.  This time for a baby girl, I will probably not be knitting this one for a while, it only gets knitted for special people.

Class Card - September 2014

Class card this month.  I used cream card and some pearlescent medium grey card for the matting.  I used August project club stamps and well as the stamp that compliments the set, the net.  I used Memento - Tuxedo Black and grey ProMarkers only this time, we were just concentrating on the layers this month.  I also used the Swirly Birthday Words and the Football Fanatic stamps, an inverted corner punch and some card Candi.  I also made a matching tag, again layering the images.

Susan's Birthday

Today is my sister's birthday and she loves butterflies, so I thought this card using some Tonic dies would fit the bill.  So the border is the Deco Frame - Rose and I also used the Layering Butterflies.  The background paper is from a Tim Holtz pad, once cut to size I added some Memento - Angel Pink ink around the edges.  I cut out the frame using some pink pearlescent card, then cut it again using some green and some pink card.  Because I did only one pass through my Cuttlebug it didn't cut all the way though, (I sometimes have to turn the die and cut again) I had all the outside area cut but the roses were still joined in places so I used some double sided tape on the back to keep it all together, then I cut out the roses, then the leaf sections and glued them to the underneath of the frame.  I cut out the butterflies in the same way, first one pass through the Cuttlebug using some pink heart card from Kanban then a proper cut out using some pink textured card, but they needed something else so I cut then out again using some white card.  To finish I used some gems from Papermania on the butterflies for the bodies and as a little flourish around some of the frame.

Dale's Birthday

As I'm typing this bit of information about the card it's actually the 18th July and it's Dale's birthday on the 23rd.  I can't post it yet because I've actually used the August Project Club set from Nina Crafts (if you would like to find out about the project club visit the new website and in the contact section you will find a contact sheet, Faye will be more than happy to help) and I don't want to let anyone see it until Sue has had a chance to finish her cards for August.  Dale and my daughter Hanni are big fans of Huddersfield Town football club so this card had to be the appropriate colours, and I really like the blue and white colours, not football lol.
The stamps I used from the August project club set are: the background whistle, two sentiment stamps (also used on the background and stamped using Memento - Summer Sky), the large shirt, the small shirt and the scarf.  The only stamp I didn't used from the set is the large trophy and that's because I couldn't fit it on.  The football is from the Football Fanatic set of stamps, I stamped it using Memento - Tuxedo Black and coloured the black areas with a black ProMarker, I cut it out leaving a little white border around the edge.  I actually cut out the middle of the scarf and added a strip of white card that I'd coloured in with the same blue ProMarker as I used on all the other bit and pieces, just to keep the colour consistent.  I then used  a stamp from the Birthday Galore set, it was attached to the 'Happy Birthday to you' section of the stamps but I cut off the Happy Birthday bit and used that, stamping with VersaMark and heat embossing with white embossing powder.  I cut the strip of card to match the width of the scarf then I used a black Memento pen to add the black edges making it look as if it was meant to be there before I matted it onto some white card and trimmed it leaving a little white border but leaving the sides longer so I could glue the cut up scarf to the ends.  I used  pale blue textured background card adding a black edge with the black ProMarker and once stamped I attached it to the base card with double sided tape.  Added the football again with double side tape, the small shirts I made into some bunting, the large shirt and the scarf (I slightly curved the scarf to give a little dimension) were all attached with silicone glue.  I knew I wanted to put the circles down the right hand side so that was OK but I wanted something to balance it out a little so made the white corners, instead of writing it all down I've added the following picture to show you how I did them.
For the circles I used some white card and coloured it in again with the blue ProMarker before using a 1½" circle punch to cut out four of them.  I used the July stamp from the What a Year stamp set and the outline letters from the alphabet set with VersaMark and heat embossed with white embossing powder, then attached them to the card with silicone glue.
