Twistles Birthday

This card was made for a friend who's birthday was in the middle of this month.  I used the 'Joker' stamp, the 'ABC 123' set ref: NC021 and the 'Word Perfect' set ref: 1803160a from Dimension Stamps and the background card stamps are from a lovely lady called Sue, who attends the class every month.  A very big thank you Sue for letting me use them.  Everything has been stamped using VersaMark and heat embossed using detail gold embossing powder.  I used a few ProMarkers to colour in, well to just highlight really.

My new stamps

updated 17/03/2014:  Dimension Stamps have now changed their name to Nina Crafts.

I've had some stamps made by Dimension Stamps and I'm really pleased with them, I've only used the numbers and the December stamp just now but will no doubt be using them on loads of different projects.

For this advent I used some 6 x 6 papers that I'd got off Rita (Paperfolder) she's been having a clear out and I got the papers lol.  So all the little boxes are made from those, the two Christmas paper pads were slightly different sizes so the smaller one I used for the box bases.  I used the Spellbinders scallop circles and the plain circles but I have now bought a 1.5 inch Fiskars circle punch.  The base of the advent has been made using some grey board, cut to size and covered with some A4+ pale blue paper slightly cut down.  The front of the board has been stamped and embossed with some VersaFine - Deep Lagoon ink and detail clear embossing powder, using a variety of snowflake stamps from Dimension Stamps and I used some PVA glue to attach the paper background.  I used my Crop-A-Dile to add the snowflake eyelets at the top of the board and finished off with some white ribbon.
This is a close up of my stamps, I have a circle for each of the months and the numbers are in both solid and outline, there are also four little text sentiments in the set.

Class Card - November 2013

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

This months class card for Dimension Stamps.
For this card I used the October project club stamp set and the candle is the stamp that compliments the project club set, it does have more than the poinsettia on it I have just used the middle of it.  The background green paper is from the Artylicious Season's Greetings CD ROM from Glenda Waterworth and is available from Chocolate Baroque, some really beautiful papers on this CD.  I also used the 'Holly Tree' stamp ref: NC041 and some green Memento ink to add an extra bit of texture.  The snowflake punch on the red card is from Martha Stewart.  The red circle is from Tonic and the white scalloped shape is from Spellbinder.
We were talking in class about what different paper and cards to use, and I found some on Create and Craft from La Pashe, but here is the direct link, really good quality paper and card.  I found this information sheet really useful as well.

Die Cut Box

updated 17/03/2014:  Dimension Stamps have now changed their name to Nina Crafts.

All stamps used are from Dimension Stamps

I have loads and loads of die cut sets from Spellbinders, Tonic, Signature from Joanna Sheen, Marianne Designs, Joy Craft etc etc and wanted NO needed somewhere to store them.  I'd been searching for ages for a really useful box or something like it, but couldn't find the right size.  David (my hubby) is really busy at the moment but I asked him to make one for me, I'm really lucky to have a Jack of all trades living in the same house lol.  I did a quick drawing and left it with him.  When I got the box it was all ready for me to just decorate.  I used my Pebeo paints, the off white one for the base colour, then decided to stamp on it.  I used my geometric flower stamps from Dimension Stamps, they come in three different sizes so are really useful, I also used the butterfly from the 'Flower Powered' stamp set ref: 2400075a.  I stamped first of all using a Memento - London Fog ink then painted the flowers and butterfly, then to finished I wanted to randomly stamp with StazOn - Jet Black.  I'm not very good with random though, so some of the flowers are actually spot on and the others are off centre, which is what I wanted to happen, never mind though I'm really pleased with the end result.  The size of the box was decided because of the size of the pockets I have put all my die cuts in, I got the them from polybags.co.uk and they are called Ziplock Slidergrip Bags and they come in a verity of sizes, I am now far too organised lol.     I'm thinking of painting the bees on the other end from the 'Bee Happy' stamp set ref: 2300039a, I like the travelling bees I did on this card
BUT

I have just picked up the new owl stamps and can't wait to use them, have you seen them?  Check out the Dimension Stamps website, they have proved to be very very popular.  I have also had some new stamps made, I had a brainwave and really really needed to have some made, so the team have done a great job with them and I can't wait to use them as well, thank you very much to all for putting up with me and thanks to Laura for getting them ready in time for me to pick them up yesterday.  I have also just acquired some new bits and pieces that means I will need to get my paints out again, it will be tough but I will do it lol.  I'll post more on my next projects later when they are finished.  So much to do, where do I start lol.

Update

Exciting things have been developing at Dimension Stamps HQ, the team have been wanting to expand their creative talents and have just started a new venture.  Dimension Stamps isn't going anywhere, far from it as I've seen all the new designs Nina has been coming up with, you're going to love them.  Nina Crafts is still very much alive and kicking, the manufacturing side of the business is still going strong but Roy, Faye and Nina wanted a new challenge.  For a while they have wanted to do more on the home decor front, so have put the wheels in motion and got it started.
Violet Lane is the name and I'm really liking the products they have released so far.  The website is still very new but you can find it here

or ebay

Going Fishing

updated 17/03/2014:  Dimension Stamps have now changed their name to Nina Crafts.

All stamps used are from Dimension Stamps

This stamp makes me laugh, it's called 'Cecil goes Fishing' ref: NC030 and is part of the Has Been range of stamps from Dimension Stamps.  I stamped him onto the circle white card, that was left over from one of the last class sessions and used one of the left over black circles for the matt.  I stamped the image using Memento - Tuxedo Black and coloured in using Pro/Flex Markers.  I also stamped the fishy bits onto another piece of white card and once coloured I cut out leaving a little white border around each, these stamps are from the 'Under the Sea' project club stamp set ref: 2300032a, love this set.  For the background blue card I used the row of circles and the straight line stamps from the 'All Things Christmas' set ref: NC040, just bending them as I put them onto the Stamp and Stash plate.  I stamped using VersaMark and heat embossed using detail white embossing powder.  I used foam tape and pads to attach the fishy bits and used double side tape for the circled topper.  Finishing off with a little bit of Sakura Glaze pen on the sunglasses and the eyes.  When colouring Cecil I left his legs a little paler than his head and body haha, well for the rest of the year he does have his legs covered up lol.

Project Club - November 2013 ≈ Main Card ≈

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

This months project club has come around a little too quick for my liking, it's nearly Christmas and I still have loads to do.  The stamps this month are a really good mixture and I have tried to show that they can be used not just for Christmas but for any everyday occasion.
If you would like to have a look at the range of project club stamps or would even like to join the club visit the Dimension Stamps website for more details.

This is the main card for this month
Using the coloured card cut two pieces so they measure 21cm x 6.5cm.  Using the white card cut two pieces so they measure 21cm x 5.5cm.
Using the coloured card trim one piece so it measures 20.5cm x 6.5cm.  Using the picture below mark off your centre point on the back of the card.
Now cut from the outside edge to the centre point to make the pennant shape.
Using the white card trim one piece so it measures 19.5cm x 5.5cm.  Using the picture below mark off your centre point on the back of the card.
Now cut from the outside edge to the centre point to make the pennant shape.
Using this piece of card, stamp the Christmas Wishes text at the top using the black ink.  Stamp the soldier making sure you leave a gap between him and the text to add the ribbon later.  Using the other piece of white card (21cm x 5.5cm) stamp the images down the panel.
Colour both the pennant and the panel.
Cut a piece of ribbon so it fits across the pennant under the text, leaving the rest of the ribbon for the knot.  Attach using the double sided tape to back of each piece.  Matt both the pennant and the panel to the coloured pieces of cut card using double sided tape.
Open up the card base and measure from the centre fold 7.5cm, trim this off leaving a front panel 7.5cm wide.
Using double sided tape attach both panels to the front of the card.  To finish tie a knot onto the ribbon and trim the ends.
Happy crafting, Jackie J

Project Club - November 2013 ≈ Round Wishes ≈

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

All stamps used are from Dimension Stamps

I have the EK Success circle cutter so wanted to make a circle card, BUT I'm not very good at maths so asked my hubby (who is, very good in fact) if he would work out how many stamped images I'd have for the size of the circle.  As the biggest size is 6 inch, he couldn't go over that.  So here's the technical bit - roughly a 6 inch circle, multiply that by p hat gives you the circumference, then divide the circumference by the length of the stamp at its widest part, then round the answer down to the next whole number.  That gives you the number of times you can stamp your image.  Next divide the circumference by the number of images and this gives you the spacing for each image.  Now back to the card lol.  I cut out the circle on some scrap card and stamped, well it went perfect, BUT once I'd committed to the real card I went off a bit so don't look too closely lol.  In this project club you will find the outline stars and also some solid stars, the solid stars actually fit inside the outline stars, so using some different coloured ink the stars can be coloured instantly.  I'd asked Nina to make some of these solid and outline stamps, so I will be using these little stamps again on other projects, thanks Nina J   I stamped using Memento - Tuxedo Black and used Memento - Cantaloupe and Dandelion for the solid stars.  I stamped the fairy in the middle of the circle and coloured her in using Pro/Flex Markers, stamping again onto some Papermania paper from the Sunshine Pack, then cutting out her dress and the star in her hair on one piece and the star on her want on another.  I used some clear drying PVA to attach the pieces to the fairy.  I cut out a further two circles for my base card, trimming the top of one of them and folding the other one over the trimmed area, sticking in place using red high tack tape.  I covered the inside of the base card with the same paper used for the fairy, and also made the flowers using some Joy Craft dies, I also used a Joy die for the white lace border.  The sentiment is from the 'Grand Word Perfect' stamp set ref: 1803161a and has been stamped onto a Spellbinders - Fancy Framed Tags One die, that I inked around the edge using the Cantaloupe ink.  When I attached the lace border I used some PVA glue but I'd smudged it slightly and you could see the shine left behind, so I used a Sakura clear Glaze pen inside the lace to cover up the shiny bits and make all the inside of the lace shiny.  I used some double sided tape to attach the main circle front to the card and used the Glaze pen on the stars around the edge, just on the middle star and the two smaller ones, also the star on the fairy wand and finally on her eyes.  To finish the card I used some pearl gems from MeiFlower.

Project Club - November 2013 ≈ Pretty in Pink ≈

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

All stamps used are from Dimension Stamps

I was looking for some pale pink card when I found the white background for this card.  I had started to make it for another card but it never got made, so just stored the card in my bit drawer.  The punch used is a Martha Stewart border and corner punch, I had actually only punch the two sides so all I need to do was cut it down to fit this card front.  I also found the pink flower card and the pink strip paper so used them as well, it's amazing what you find when you're not looking lol.  I used some deep pink foil card for the background rounding the corners with a We are Memory Keepers Corner Chomper and attaching to the base card with double sided tape.  Then added the white punched card, rounding the top corner first.  The two pink strips are matted onto some slightly darker pink paper before using double sided tape to attach to the font of the card, as you can see from the picture I didn't round these corners, but did add the ribbon to the stripe paper.  I stamped the fairy using Memento - Tuxedo Black and coloured in with ProMarkers leaving her hair white.  After cutting her out I attached her to the foil card and using silicone glue stuck it to the front of the card.  I also used silicone glue to attach the bow and once dry I added some glitter to the star on her wand and added a little of the glitter in her hair.

Project Club - November 2013 ≈ On Guard Gatefold ≈

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

All stamps used are from DimensionStamps

The two guards on the front of this gatefold card where stamped using Memento - Tuxedo Black and coloured in using ProMarkers (still my favourite).  I was going to colour them in different colours but I really liked the green so stayed with that.  I matted them onto some green foil card using an inverted corner rounder punch and added some gems to the corners.
The inside of the card is the fairy princess.  I stamped her in the middle of the card, then using a sticky note stamped her again and cut out the image.  I masked off the fairy with the sticky note before stamping the Christmas tree, so once the sticky note is removed the fairy appears at the front of the tree (hope this answers your questions about masking AJ).  The tree stamp is called 'Holly tree' ref: NC041 and is available from the website.  I coloured in using Pro/Flex Markers before matting onto some green foil card using the corner punch again and adding the gems to match the front of the card.

Project Club - November 2013 ≈ On Guard ≈

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

All stamps used are from Dimension Stamps

I have just had a delivery of some Tonic dies and used this one to make the guard hut.  It's from the Tonic Indulgence range and the soldier fits perfect inside the opening.  I used some pearlescent orange card for the inside and some brown for the outside.  I stamped the soldier using Memento - Tuxedo Black and coloured in using Pro/Flex Markers.  The sentiment is from the 'Grand Word Perfect' set of stamps ref: 1803161a and the pennant frame is from the 'Grand Word Perfect 2' set ref: 1803069a, the stamped stars are from the project club set.  I used some cream card for the base card and used a We are Memory Keepers Corner Chomper to round each of the corners.  The sentiment has been attached with some foam pads, having used some of the left over orange card as a matt.

Project Club - November 2013 ≈ Baubles ≈

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

All stamps used are from DimensionStamps

I used the Marieanne Design Pine Branch for the greenery at the top of the card, cutting them out of some green foil card and some green glitter card.  The baubles are the Spellbinders - 2013 Heirloom Ornaments in silver foil card, and the middles are the Spellbinders - Standard Circles Large, which I stamped the snowflakes on.  The snowflakes are stamped using the Memento - Summer Sky ink and the 'Snowflake Background 2012' stamp ref: 0305019a this is available on the website.  I stamped both the soldier and the fairy with Memento - Tuxedo Black and coloured in using my Pro/Flex Markers.  I then cut them out leaving a little white border around each of them before using some PVA to attach to the snowflake bauble, cutting away the bottom section of the images.  I then attached to the silver ornaments adding some baker's twine and added a green bow to each of them.  Having some foil card left over I cut out two borders to fit along the bottom of the card.  I stamped the sentiment using the 'Grand Word Perfect' set of stamps ref: 1803161a and cut out using the Spellbinders - Ribbon Tags Two' dies, adding some ribbon before attaching to the card.  To finish I used a Quickie Glue pen and some glitter on the wand and in the middle of each of the snowflakes.

Baby Shawl

I've been doing a little bit of knitting and thought you'd like to see it.
In the picture is my daughter Hanni and this weekend she is visiting her very good friend Jay.  Jay is a lovely young lady who is expecting her first baby next year.  Well, Hanni saw me looking through some of my knitting patterns, I was looking for one in particular but couldn't find it.  Anyway, she saw the shawl pattern and asked if I'd make one for Jay, 'Yes' I said 'when do you want it for'.  'Just over two weeks' she said.  OMG lol, well I did it with a few days to spare, thank goodness.
Congratulations to the lovely Jay and her hubby. xx

Last night

We had a bit of a rest this year as Hanni did most of the trimming up for Halloween.  She did a really good job and even had a go at carving a pumpkin, for her first attempt it was really good.
These are some of the decorations in the hallway, it was everywhere
These are the sweetie bag toppers I made using the Trick or Treat and the Eerie-sistable collections from Nitwit.  This year I made 40, they all went so some got loose sweets instead.  Need to go back to 50 bags next year lol.
