Cupcake Delight

updated 17/03/2014:  Dimension Stamps have now changed their name to Nina Crafts.

All stamps used are from Dimension Stamps

I used the 'Cupcake Delight' stamp set for this card and the reference number is NC017.  The cupcake was stamp using VersaFine - Onyx Black and heat embossed using detail clear embossing powder, I coloured in using my Pro/Flex Markers.  The frosting top was first stamped onto acetate using StazOn - Jet Black, then sticking the acetate onto a piece of double sided adhesive sheet before cutting out.  I then added some glitter, it looked a little too pale so I added some ProMarkers to give a little more colour (you can use your ProMarkers but be careful not to move the glitter around, I just dabbed the ProMarker on).  Then stuck the frosted top onto the cupcake base with some Glossy Accents.  I used a Kanban card for background and added some Distress Inks for the edges.  I used the Spiced Marmalade first which was very in your face so I toned it down with some Shabby Shutters, I still thought it need a little bit more so I added a little of the Brushed Corduroy.  I like the way it looks against the white base card, made it stand out even more.  I found an A6 piece of green foil card with a mat finish. There wasn't enough to do the whole card so I cut it up and used part of a Spellbinder - Blossom Three die and a circle die for the inner section that has been inked with the Shabby Shutter before removing the card from the die.  I used the Spellbinders - A2 Matting Basics dies to do the same with the Ingredients stamped section in the corner.  To finish I used some grosgrain saddle stitch ribbon for the bow and some green gems.

Dale's birthday - box

Because he's batman mad Hanni and I thought it a good idea to get Dale some Lego batman bits.  So all I did was measure the packaging the little models were in then starting from the inside of the box, I cut the spotty card so it fit each piece adding a raise of 2cm as dividers.  So each compartment measured 9 x 6cm, I cut a strip of the card at 9cm wide then scored at 6cm, 8cm, 10cm, 16cm, 18cm, 20cm then cut the end off at 26cm.  Added some PVA to the card gluing the 8 - 10cm scores and the 18 - 20cm section leaving three 6cm x 9cm compartment one for each model.  I then made the base, having a 2.5cm depth and the lid is a 1.5cm depth.  I used some brick card for the lid and used some baker's twine for the bow, a lot better than ribbon for a fella.

Dale's birthday - wallet

This little wallet was really easy to make.  All I did was measure the note (Dale and my daughter Hanni are going to Rhodes in September so we thought some spending money would be a good idea), add a section for the front flap, a section at the top and one for the bottom so they overlap and a strip of card for the band at the front.  I made it using some brown spotty card, just cutting and folding, adding two brads with some baker's twine for a fastener and the happy birthday banner was from my stash, one of those that I've had for ages.

Dale's birthday - card

Dale's birthday today, happy birthday Mr Sykes J

I did a search on Google for the images for this card, I did search for free dark knight images and got this one with the moon on.  The image comes from a wallpaper uploaded by MattVTwelve, I couldn't find anything about copyright so hope using it is OK.  I printed out the moon after re-sizing it to fit a 6x6 easel card, and stamped the happy birthday and Dale's name with VersaFine - Onyx Black the heat embossed with detail clear embossing powder.  I printed it out again and cut the bottom section and batman out and added some foam pads to give a little dimension, then matted it onto some black card.  I used black card on the base and the batman image is again from Google but I can't find out the person who uploaded that one, tut, sorry.  I used the a logo for the stopper, making it four pieces of card thick and sticking together with PVA.  Quite a quick card really.

Class Card - July 2013

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

This is the class/workshop card for this month, I wanted to give a choice of colour, so in this picture I've shown all three.  We used the June Project Club stamp set and it's called 'Royal Baby' ref: 2300041a and we also used the 'Rocking Horse' ref: NCP03.

Project Club - July 2013 ≈ Main Card ≈

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

The theme for this months project club from Dimension Stamps is the Brazilian carnival, very colourful.  If you would like to have a look at the range of project club stamps or would even like to join the club visit the Dimension Stamps website for more details.

This is the main card for this month.
I used my anti-static bag before stamping on the coloured card with VersaMark, then heat embossed using detail clear embossing powder.
Using VersaMark again stamp the corner flourish on both the white and yellow pieces of card, this time heat emboss using detail gold embossing powder.
Use a ProMarker to give highlights of colour to each of the flourishes.  The coloured sections of the flourish look very different because of the colour of the card, use the scrap card to test the colour before you commit to you flourishes.  Slightly shape each flourish.
Line up all of the feathers and trim them so they are roughly the same size.  Trim about half a centimetre around the bottom of the quill, to make it easier to attach to the flourishes.

Because the feathers are packed into plastic bags when purchased they do get a little squashed, so once the feathers have been trimmed gently tease the sides so they are a little more fluffy.  The marabou feathers will let you do this, you may see some little bits and pieces in the feathers this is just left over bits from when they where coloured and can be removed very easily.
Use some silicone glue to attach the feathers to the flourishes.
Use VersaMark to stamp along the edge of the white card and heat emboss using the detail gold embossing powder.  Add the ribbon so it sits centrally in the left over white space.
Attach the coloured card and the stamped panel to the card front using double sided tape.  Add the ribbon knot, I like to add a little dot of silicone glue to the underside of the knot to hold it in place, you could use a glue dot instead.
To finish off attach the flourishes with some silicone glue.

Happy crafting, Jackie J

Project Club - July 2013 ≈ Green Corners ≈

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

This card didn't make it onto the project club sheet this month, I just couldn't fit it on.
I used the corner flourish stamp for this card, on some satin board, I stamped using VersaMark and heat embossed with detail clear embossing powder, it really does shine through the satin board.  I'd measured and cut the corners before stamping and rounded the two opposite corners on each square after stamping, then mounted them onto some white.  I did want to put this onto another card front but it was far too big, so I made a 6 x 6 card out of it.  I used some purple paper from my stash for the background and added a corner die cut out of white, it was made using the Spellbinders - Fleur De Lis Squares that I cut into four pieces.  The middle is also made from a Spellbinder - Fancy Tag Two die, I cut one out of the purple and another out of white and cut the middle out, then I stamped the sentiment using the 'Popular Phrases' stamp set ref: NC023 in VersaFine - Onyx Black and heat embossed with my detail clear embossing powder.  To finish the middle section off I drew around the outside edge of the die onto some white card and cut out, I matted all the layers together and finished off with a little white feather attached using silicone glue.

Project Club - July 2013 ≈ Thank You ≈

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

For this pom pom flower thank you card I used VersaFine - Deep Lagoon ink and detail clear embossing powder to stamp and emboss the flowers.  I used the Spellbinder - Standard Circle Large dies to cut out the flowers and the Framed Tags One die set to cut out the circle for the sentiment.  I didn't really know how this card was going to look, it was one of those just go with it cards.  For the background I used one of the papers from the Papermania Capsule Collection - Aqua Paper Pack, they are one of my favourite paper ranges, so much so that I bought the Capsule Collection CD for when I run out of the stash I have, it could be a while though lol.  So onto the background I stamped the feather stamp using the Memento - Summer Sky and Lulu Lavender, giving a nice wispy look.  Onto some white card I first stamped the pom pom flower using the Deep Lagoon and then straight over the top stamped the letter before adding the embossing powder.  The other letters where done in the same way, the letters are from the 'Plain Alphabet' ref: 1801012a, the 'Plain Lower Case Alphabet' ref: 1801014a and the letters on the circle are from the 'Alphabet 7' set ref: 1801009a.  I coloured the pom poms flowers and letters with just two ProMarkers.  I used some double side tape to attach the second and fourth flower circles then used foam pads to attach everything else to the card.  To finish I added some purple gems from MeiFlower.

Project Club - July 2013 ≈ Invitation ≈

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

I stamped the head-dress and the pom pom flower in each corner onto some white card using VersaFine - Onyx Black and heat embossed using detail silver embossing powder, have you tried using different colour inks with your embossing powders, I like to use the black with silver as I get a slightly darker silver once it has been embossed.  I coloured the image in using my Pro/Flex Markers and then used my Sakura pens to highlight the edges of each section then added the dots with the blue pen.  I used the Spellbinder - Tweets and Twigs M-Bossabilities folder for the background panels using the letterpress technique.  To do this I used Distress Ink - Spiced Marmalade and inked the embossing folder before passing it through my Cuttlebug.  For the background I used some pearlescent navy blue paper, it has a light blue little shine in it, I also used it on the matting with a little bit of silver mirri card.

Project Club - July 2013 ≈ Wine Glass Charms ≈

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

The wire on these charms is a little too thin and bends in all the wrong places but you get the idea I'm sure.  I used some white and some clear shrink plastic to make these charms.  I stamped using StazOn - Jet Black, used my Crop-A Dile to add the holes for the jump rings then cut out leaving a little border. I coloured in with some watercolour pencils and blended with a little water before using my heat gun on them.  Once I'd sort of got the wire shape I added a bead at either side of the jump ring.  The mask and the facemask are from the 'Beauty is a State of Mind' stamp set ref: 2400049a.

Project Club - July 2013 ≈ Napkin Ring ≈

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

I stamped the corner flourish using Adirondack - Watermelon and heat embossed using detail clear embossing powder, then cut out the flourish leaving a 2mm border.  I have some red rather wide paper tape/ribbon so measured that, measured the depth of the text and cut a piece of white card to fit.  I stamped the text along the top and bottom of the white card again using the Watermelon and embossing with the clear powder.  I cut the white card down to 6" long and used some hi tack red tape to join the ends together, then added the paper ribbon.  I added three white feathers to the mini head-dress and attached to the napkin ring with silicone glue.

Project Club - July 2013 ≈ Place Settings ≈

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

After rummaging through my card drawer I found some off cuts, so used them for these place settings.  I used the corner flourish as a mini head-dress, stamped using VersaFine - Onyx Black and heat embossed with detail clear embossing powder onto some red and some orange card.  I folded the base card and used a doily for the white trim.  Added a couple of bright feathers with silicone glue and then attached the flourishes.  I have some peel offs that I haven't used for ages, so used some of the little shapes to add a little confetti.  The text is from some foam alphabet sheets I have, I had to mix Hanni's name because I'd run out of a's.

Project Club - July 2013 ≈ Menu ≈

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

I wanted to create a carnival party theme so decided to make a table setting with some of the stamped images.  This is the menu card and I used the head-dress stamp and coloured it in with my favourite Pro/Flex Markers.  I stamped the head-dress with VersaFine - Onyx Black and heat embossed with detail clear embossing powder.  I stamped it again onto some lilac spotty paper and cut out the arch sections and stuck them onto the coloured image.  I had some green mirri card in my stash so just used a strip of it on the bottom of the card.  I stamped the word menu using one of the alphabet stamp sets before cutting around the head-dress leaving a 2mm'ish border.  I found some of the multi-coloured feathers in my stash and attached them to the back of the image using silicone glue, then fixed it to the card front.  To finish I cut the base card into the arch shape.
This is the place setting when it's altogether, I will be posting the other elements over the next few days.
