Wedding Card

Today Faye from Dimension Stamps gets married and this is the card I did for her.  I used my Crop-A Dile to add the eyelets and the white ribbon from MeiFlower was threaded using a lattice pattern, I attached these pieces of card to the card front using some foam tape.  I used an EK Success border punch for the scrolls and then fed the card panels through my Cuttlebug leaving the bottom scroll section sticking out of the bottom of the embossing folder which was the Spellbinders - Enchanted folder, I then scored a line across the bottom of the embossed area.  I used a Quickie Glue pen on the embossed design and added some glitter.  The tags are Spellbinders - Framed Tags One and I printed the names before using my Foil-It machine to add the silver.  To finish I used some self adhesive pearls on the tags.

Shirley's Birthday

It's the end of May already, where has the time gone, it's been my mother-in-law's birthday this week and this is the card I made for her.  It's one of the 'Fabulous Shoes' from the Katy Sue Designs CD ROM, this is one of my current favorite CD's at the moment.  The picture is a bit rubbish though, tut, I'm really going to have to get a grip of this camera.  Anyway, I printed the card pieces onto some 160gsm card and once cut out I added the glitter before assembling the pieces.  The 'happy birthday' is from my stash and just fits, the flowers in the corners are made using the EK Success Daisy border punch, I just cut the flowers into singles, using two in each corner and added some glitter to the top one.  To finish I added the gems and ribbon from MeiFlower.

Class Card - May 2013

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

This is the card we made in our workshop/class this month.  We used the April project club stamps from Dimension Stamps and the tall sunflower stamp compliments the project club set.  I used the Spellbinders - Curved Rectangles, the largest of the dies as this is an 8x8 card, the gems are from Meiflower and the background paper I made myself taking the colours from the coloured images.

Project Club - May 2013 ≈ Main Card ≈

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

The theme for this months project club from Dimension Stamps is Bees.  I really enjoyed making these cards again this month, the stamp sets are really lovely to work with.  If you would like to have a look at the range of project club stamps or would even like to join the club visit the Dimension Stamps website for more details.

This is this months finished card.
I stamped onto the edge of an A4 piece of scrap paper before I stamped onto the base card, so I could select the finished area I wanted.
Open up the cream base card and lay flat on your work surface and stamp the selection you have chosen from the scrap paper.  Colour the flowers using your watercolour pencils, then use a waterbrush to blend using a paper towel to dab the water as you go so as not to over wet the card.  Cut the edge of the card leaving about a 2mm border.
Cut the cream piece of card from the kit so it measures 7cm x 19cm.  I used the other edge of my scrap paper and drew the 7cm x 19cm panel, then stamped out the images, so I could try before I committed onto my cream card.  I started stamping from the bottom up , so started with the: Sweet as Honey - Honey Pot - Hope you have a BEEutiful Birthday - Hive - Bee Happy - then finished off with the largest Bee.
Once happy that everything will fit stamp onto the cream panel.
Using your watercolour pencils colour the panel, when using the waterbrush again use the paper towel to dab any excess water.

Cut the brown card so it measures 7.5cm wide, set aside the strip of brown card to be used later.  Cut across the top of the brown card so it measures 19.5cm x 7.5cm.  Attach the cream panel using double sided tape, fix a gem to each of the corners.
Use foam tape or pads to attach the panel to the card front.  The brown card that was set aside will now need attaching to the inside right-hand edge of the card using double side tape.
Happy crafting, Jackie J

Project Club - May 2013 ≈ Busy Bees ≈

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

For this card I used a pearlescent copper card for the matting, I think it matched the colour of the bees perfectly.  So onto a white piece of card I randomly stamped the bees so they were buzzing right across the card, using VersaFine - Vintage Sepia ink.  I had a little issue with the ink pad, when I opened it (new pad) the base colour was the sepia but on top it was green, I'd actually thought I'd picked up the wrong ink, tut.  It took a while for the brown to come through, so don't look too close as you will still see a shade of green lol.  I outlined the bees using a Tea Green ProMarker to give them  little lift off the card, then coloured the rest in again using ProMarkers.  I matted onto the copper card then added the ribbon to the corners as shown in the picture, adding a bow to the top one.  The tag is from the Spellbinders - Framed Tags One set and I just cut around the white tag to give a copper border leaving a 2mm edge.  To finish I added some brown MeiFlower gems.

Project Club - May 2013 ≈ Congratulations ≈

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

Quite a quick card, once I'd thought it though.  I used some masking tape across the middle of the white piece of card.  I used my Memento Markers on the flower stamp to add the colour then stamped on top of the masking tape.  When I removed the masking tape I had to make sure there wasn't any sticky residue left on the card before using my anti-static bag.  I stamped the honey bee border using VersaFine - Onyx Black and heat embossed with detail clear embossing powder.  I did the same for the congratulations stamp from the 'Assorted Greetings 1' set ref: 1803140a and the bee happy stamp from the project club set.  I matted onto some blue pearlescent card before attaching to the white base card.

Project Club - May 2013 ≈ New Home ≈

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

Everywhere I look at the moment I see bees, and bee hives, I saw a programme about the lack of bees at this time of year and the presenter mentioned hives where not producing nearly as much honey, he called the hive 'a little home' for the bee, so this card popped into my head.  For the matting I used some textured green card, the yellow background paper is from my stash and I've had it for years, I just stamped the little bee randomly over it using Memento - Espresso Truffle.  For the topper I first stamped the New Home text using the 'ABC 123' stamp set ref: NC021 again using the Espresso Truffle  giving a slight shadow with third generation ink (stamp the letter, stamp onto scrap, stamp back onto the letter but slightly off set all without re-inking the stamp, the second generation ink was still a little too dark).  I then stamped the hive, masked it off then added the bee trails, then the little bees(I actually cut off the bee from this stamp so I could keep the bee right side up).  Coloured in using my favourite Pro/Flex Markers.  I used an EK Success scroll border punch before matting onto the green.  The stopper on the base of the card was made by embossing a mini Darice embossing folder onto some Shimmer Sheetz - Yellow Iris (check out Elizabeth Craft Designs if you have never heard of it, love it lol) then distressed the embossed image and edges with a sanding block before using a ProMarker over the embossed area.  To finish I used some Papermania Dew Drops.

Project Club - May 2013 ≈ Queen Bee ≈

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

I used some hexagon pale lemon paper for the background on this card, adding some of the flower stamps with second generation ink which was Memento - Morocco.  Then used the little bee that I cut off leaving the trail as a separate stamp, this allows me to place the bee wherever I like, I used Memento - Rich Cocoa ink for these little bees.  I used my Crop-A-Dile Corner Chomper on the outside corners and matted onto some gold foil card.  I used the same lemon paper with some larger hexagons for the inside of the card again adding the flower stamp and the bees, rounding the corners before attaching to the card.  The oval on both the front and inside of the card is from a Spellbinders - Floral Ovals die and I just followed the edges to cut out the brown pearlescent card that was the same colour as the little bees.  The crown is the 'Crown Jubilee' stamp ref: 1807004a which I stamped using VersaMark and heat embossed using the WOW - Metallic Gold Rich embossing powder, the bee was stamped using VersaMark and then heat embossed with WOW - Metallic Copper embossing powder, both the crown and the bee have been coloured in with ProMarkers.  The text on the outside and on the inside has been stamped using the 'ABC 123' stamp set ref: NC021 and Morocco ink and I put a little highlight on the text using a lemon ProMarker.  The happy birthday text is a lovely font and is from the 'Birthday Galore' stamp set ref: NC025 using the Rich Cocoa ink.
Sorry about the photos of this card, I wanted you to be able to see the copper on the bee, it really does stand out, but then if you use the WOW powders to will know that, I'm really hooked on these powders at the moment lol.

Project Club - May 2013 ≈ Sweet as Honey ≈

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

I used some blue pearlescent card for the background on this card just because I have some new WOW embossing powders and wanted to see how the Silver Pearl looked so I randomly stamped the bees over the background.  I used a Martha Stewart border punch on the white card, it always reminds me of a table cloth this particular punch.  Anyway, onto it I stamped the honey pot and the text using VersaFine - Onyx Black and heat embossed with detail clear embossing powder and coloured in with Pro/Flex Markers.

Hanni's Birthday 2013

I can't believe it's her birthday again already, she's 23 years old tomorrow, but she is still my baby lol.  This is this years card, I used a Kenny K digital image and coloured in using my favourite ProMarkers.  The frame has been made using the Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Nine and some silver mirri card.  The background paper is from the Papermania Capsule Collection - Sunshine Paper Pack.  The blue pieces are from my stash and it's actually black and white card, I just added the blue ProMarkers from the coloured image so they would match.  The flowers and leaves are from some Cheery Lynn Designs dies - Miniature Rose, Medium Rose and Flourish Leaf Strip, once made up I sprayed them with some Spray and Sparkle Silver from Crafter's Companion.  I used some blue fiber from my stash and threaded it through a Diamante Cluster Ribbon Buckle from MeiFlower.
Thanks for looking J
