Bicycle

updated 17/03/2014:  Dimension Stamps have now changed their name to Nina Crafts.

For this card I used the 'Flower Powered' set of stamps ref: 2400075a.  I first stamped the bicycle using VersaFine - Onyx Black and coloured in using my Pro/Flex Markers (they are still my fav thing to colour with) but then I wanted to use a Spellbinders die, so having a root in my Spellbinder box I found the Curved Rectangles, this die was actually just big enough to use as the bicycle is rather a large stamp.  So once cut out I used Distress Ink - Milled Lavender and the Spun Sugar to just add a little ink before removing the white card from the cut out die.  For the border around the curved rectangle I used a Martha Stewart punch, I punched along a strip of purple textured card and then cut each section out and attached all the single pieces to the edge of the curved rectangle.  I had some strip purple/lilac paper in my stash (I think it's from an old stack of Papermania papers I've had for ages) but wasn't really happy with just a plain card base so decided to make it into a side stepper card.  I measured the overall size of the bicycle with the border, and used that as the size of the stepper I needed, then covered the card with the striped paper.  The sentiment and it's frame are from the 'Grand Word Perfect 2' stamp set ref: 1803069a.  The flowers could have done with toning down a little, they were supposed to match the flowers I coloured on the bike, but never mind.  I used the Cheery Lyn Design dies - Medium Rose, Miniature Rose and the Flourish Leaf Strip, using a little brag for the centres, well the brads matched if nothing else lol.  J

Posie Passion

updated 17/03/2014:  Dimension Stamps have now changed their name to Nina Crafts.

I did this card using the 'Posie Passion' stamp set ref: NC004 for the flower and the background was made using the 'Window of Waves' stamp set ref: NC003.  The background lilac paper is a freebie from a magazine, I got the mag ages ago so that has long since gone but I did save the paper.  I stamped the waves stamp using Memento - Lulu Lavender, then used a corner rounder punch on each of the corners before matting onto some lilac card, again rounded the corners before attaching to my white base card, rounding the corners on this as well.  I used the lilac card with an EK Success punch for the panel across the middle of the card, and added some spotty paper, from the same mag stash and crossed over some white 3mm ribbon before attaching it to the card front.  I used a Spellbinders scalloped circle in the lilac card for the topper.  Onto some white card I stamped a few of the large flowers from the Posie Passion set and the heart petal stamp using Memento - Grape Jelly and coloured in with Pro/Flex Markers before cutting out.  I left one flower intact and cut the other into single petals, giving each of them a bit of shape before using them.  I used some PVA glue to stick the full flower onto the shaped lilac card then just added and built up the flower using the single petals, for the middle I used a large brad, in this picture it looks a little on the blue side but it did match quite well.  To finish I used some gems on the little circle shapes on the background waves stamp.

Name that Tune

updated 17/03/2014:  Dimension Stamps have now changed their name to Nina Crafts.

I do like a bit of black and white and thought the musical theme of this card would work well with it.  I used the 'Musical Moments' stamp set ref: NC005, as soon as I saw this set a keyboard border just shouted at me, so that's just what I did using Memento - Tuxedo Black ink.  I used a Martha Stewart punch along the bottom of some white card, just to make it a little more girly then matted onto some black card before attaching to my white base card.  I used the Spellbinder - Resplendent Rectangles die on a piece of black card, then with a pencil drew around the inside of the die onto the back of some white card and cut it out.  I then stamped the music stamp onto this white card, I highlighted a few bits with a light grey ProMarker before sticking onto the black Spellbinder shape using double side tape.  I added some gems in the top corners and to finish off I used a Sakura Glaze Pen on the black keys on the border, the circle part of each of the notes and to the main letters in the music stamp.

This is the card we made in class this month over at Dimension Stamps.  I really enjoy this class/workshop every month, I do have a giggle, and the ladies are lovely.
We used the December Project Club stamps ref: 2300039a, and the set is called 'Out at Sea'.  We also used the 'Ahoy' stamp ref: 1701010a and the 'Ships Compass' stamp ref: 1701003a.

Football Card

updated 17/03/2014:  Dimension Stamps have now changed their name to Nina Crafts.

For this card I used the 'Football Fanatic' set of stamps ref: NC008 from Dimension Stamps.  The background top section has been embossed using a Spellbinders M-Bossabilities - So Trendy folder, and the bottom section has been made using a white card and a blue card with the Die-namics - Hexagons dies.  I stuck each hexagon onto a piece of base card and patched it together, once both top and bottom sections had been completed I stuck them together and added some ribbon from Ribbonbox before matting onto some dark blue textured card.  I used StazOn to stamp the boot onto some white shrink plastic, before shrinking them I used a blue Sakura Gelly Roll pen to colour them and added a hole for the ribbon using the largest hole on my Crop-A-Dile.  I used the Spellbinders circle dies to cut the white card for the football and for the dark blue matt.  I stamped the No. 1 and Dad text onto the white circle card using Memento - Tuxedo Black ink then masked the text before stamping the football over the top of it.  I coloured the football in using a ProMarker before matting onto the blue card.  I used foam tape to attach the football topper onto the card front, then used a 3mm white ribbon on the boots, using foam pads on the back of them before attaching.  I positioned the ribbon over the top of the blue card before attaching it all to the white base card.  To finish I used some Papermania - Dew Drops in the corners.

If you look closely you will notice that the boots are actually different sizes, this is because I stamped the boot onto the shrink plastic in different places.  Let me explain, I'd stamped the boot a couple of duff times before I was happy with the outcome, so chose the two better images, BUT, one image was down the side of the shrink plastic sheet and the other one was along the bottom of the shrink plastic.  So this is why I think they shrank at different rates, I think I read somewhere that shrink plastic shrinks at 45% of the original size, but don't quote me on that, anyway next time I will stamp my images the same way just in case lol.
I would just like to thank my daughter's boyfriend for the help he gave me while making this card, I haven't a clue about anything football so I asked him to doodle on a scrap piece of paper that I'd stamped the football and the boot, so I could copy it.  Thank you Dale J

Project club - January 2013 ≈ Main Card ≈

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

This month's project club is all about gingerbread mmmm lol.  The set has some very versatile stamps on it, it can be used for everyday and for Christmas.

This is this month's finished card.
Cut out all the pieces of card as per the instruction sheet.  We are going to used the largest piece of white card.  Using Memento - Rich Cocoa ink stamp the corner design in the bottom right-hand corner and then the recipe stamp repeatedly down the left-hand side of the card.
Using a ProMarker add the border all around the piece of card but not over the text, I used a pink.  Colour the corner design in pale colours, I used Pro/Flex Markers.
Next using the white piece of card that measures 14.3cm x 6cm stamp the gingerbread man randomly all over the card.  The pink border can be added before or after colouring in the gingerbread men, but only add the border to the non gingerbread white areas.  Colour the panel.
Using the 11cm square piece of white card, stamp the house and then the lollipop, add the border.
Colour the house and the lollipop.
Matt and layer all the pieces onto brown card and attach to the card front using double sided tape.

Project club - January 2013 ≈ Valentine ≈

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

For this card I used the M-Bossabilities folder - Hearts on the snow white pearlescent background but used an EK Success punch along the bottom of the card.  Before matting onto some brown pearlescent card I rounded all the corners and added two pieces of brown ribbon adding the ribbon slider from MeiFlower to the narrow one.   I used the Spellbinders - Scalloped Heart and Heart dies for the topper.  I had some brown card that has a slight texture pattern on so using the gingerbread man stamp and some VersaFine - Onyx Black ink I stamped two gingerbread men, I then heat embossed using detail clear embossing powder, I also stamped and heat embossed two bow ties.  Having a rummage in my stash I found some Liquid Pearls - White Opal so used this on the mouth and cuffs, I also found some 3D Paint from Anita's, the glossy red so used that for the buttons.

Project club - January 2013 ≈ Christmas ≈

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

I couldn't not do a Christmas card but I wanted it to be quite plain.  I stamped and heat embossed the corner design using VersaFine - Onyx Black and detail clear embossing powder, I then did the same with the 'Merry Christmas' ref: 0301003a and the candy canes.  At this point I wasn't sure what colours to use, but red is a definite Christmas colour so decided to do the border next.  I marked out a 1cm border and attached some of the red high tack tape with the intension of adding some red glitter.  BUT, I'd used some ultra fine glitter and it didn't cover the tape properly, so what to do, I didn't want to bin the work I had already done, so in one of my drawers (I really do have lots of drawers lol) I found some foil, (I made doubly sure it wasn't my toner foil before using it) so rubbed that along the glittered border, well it actually looks like the glitter is in the foil, and turned out quite well, so I didn't have to bin it after all.  I used red for the base card.  This set the tone for the rest of the card, I used a quickie glue pen and added some glitter to various areas of the corner design and to finish off I used a red Sakura pen and the rest.

Project club - January 2013 ≈ Party ≈

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

As I was having a rummage in my odds and ends drawer I found some Stampin Up paper I'd used just before Halloween, I'd used it on some trick or treat boxes, so thought it would well out for this card, I had just enough, I've been trying to use up some of my stash.  So using VersaFine - Onyx Black on some of the brown textures card I stamped and heat embossed with detail clear embossing powder, five gingerbread men and five bow ties using red card.  I also stamped and heat embossed the letters from the 'Plain Lower Case Alphabet' stamp set ref: 1801014a onto the scraps of left over paper, matting them once cut out onto some black card, I also used black for my base card.  Once everything was cut out and attached to the card front I used some of the Liquid Pearls - White Opal for the mouths and cuffs and for the buttons I used some copper pearlescent glue.  I used some saddle stitch ribbon from the RibbonBox, letting it overlap the front of the card and fraying the ends.  To finish I used a black Memento pen to black out the middle of the letters 'p', 'a' and the top of the 'y'.

Project Club - January 2013 ≈ Gingerbread House ≈

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

I had this card in my head but didn't know how it would turn out, so decided to make the bits up and worry about the base card later.  So to start with I used the recipe stamp to make two borders using the Color Box Pigment inks - Jelly Beans, I used three of the inks on the stamp and heat embossed using detail clear embossing powder, I matted this border onto some red card and used a deckle edged cutting blade in my paper trimmer to cut around the edge.  I stamped the gingerbread house using VersaFine - Smokey Gray and heat embossed with detail clear embossing powder, I then used the Spellbinders - Postage Stamp die, while the card was still in the die I masked off the house and used the Big and Juicy - Waterfall ink to lightly add the sky and the grass.  I coloured in with Pro/Flex Markers before matting onto the red card.  I wanted to make a stepper card, luckily when I placed the finished elements along the A4 card they fit spot on, how jammy is that lol.  I marked and cut out the required sides onto an orange card I wanted to use for the base card, but I also had to distress the edges to disguise the fact that the score lines frayed a little bit when I folded it, tut J  You would never have known if I hadn't have said lol.  The flowers along the bottom of the card are from a Cheery Lynn die, I just cut off the excess once the glue had dried, and to finish off I added some of the mini gems from JJD Cards.
Thanks for looking J

Had a really good workshop today, I really enjoyed it, thank you ladies, I will be posting the card soon.
Sorry about the photo below, I'm still getting to grips with this new camera, I sometimes get a blur going on so I will have to spend a little more time with it.

The rosette on this card measures A4 x 6cm, I cut two strips out and all I did was stamp the gingerbread man along the card with their hand nearly touching and in between each of them I stamped the sweetie, the gingerbread man was stamped using Memento - Rich Cocoa and the sweets were stamped using Memento - Tuxedo Black and coloured in with Pro/Flex Markers.  On the background piece of brown card I used the sweetie stamp again but this time I stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with detail clear embossing powder, I coloured the sweets in using some bleach.  The sentiments are from the 'Grand Word Perfect' ref: 1803161a and I used a mixture of the stamps to make the wording up, the word frame is from the 'Grand Word Perfect 2' ref: 1803069a stamp set, I then coloured in with ProMarkers before cutting out.
