Witches Hat and Pumpkin Box

updated 17/03/2014:  Dimension Stamps have now changed their name to Nina Crafts.

Halloween, it’s one of my family’s favourite times of the year, and we have loads of trick or treaters knocking on the door, well I did work at our local primary school for a number of years so it’s hardly surprising lol.  We get up to fifty little people every year, showing us their costumes and scary faces, I really do have trouble recognizing most of them until they remove their masks or have to tell me who they are.  We have flashing lights in the garden, stuck to glass on the front door and decorate the bottom of the hallway with loads of Halloween scary stuff, it’s stuck to the walls and the ceiling lol, we even have some scary music playing in the background.  We have two large Halloween bowls that we fill with some little goodie bags and each little visitor has to be brave and take their own bag.  The kids love it, their parent say their children can’t wait to visit us to see what it will be like and to show us their new costumes lol.

I normally print out and make up some card toppers for the goodie bags but thought I’d share with you a couple of boxes for some of those Halloween goodies.  I used my cutting machine and some SVG files from SVGCuts.com the set I used is called ‘Gimme Candy Boxes’, very easy to us and to make up, they even have videos for reference on their website.  I used the ‘Grand Word Perfect 2’ stamp set from Dimension Stamps (reference number: 1803069a) around the band on the witches hat and added them around and on top of the pumpkin box, using some VersaFine – Onyx Black ink, letting it dry completely before making up the boxes.  I also used the stamp set on the green ribbon, I stamped the trick or treat text all along the ribbon on both sides using some VersaCraft – Real Black ink.
Thanks for looking J

Button Flowerpot

updated 17/03/2014:  Dimension Stamps have now changed their name to Nina Crafts.

As soon as I saw this new set of stamps from Dimension Stamps (Sew Creative ref: 2400073a) I noticed the thimble and the flower button so I just had to made a flowerpot lol.  I stamped and made masks onto sticky notes of the thimble, toggle button and flower button, then onto some white card I stamped the thimble first using Memento – Tuxedo Black, masked it off, stamped the toggles for leaves, masked them off, stamped the flower, masked it off and finally stamped the twin stitch for the stem, I then coloured in using ProMarkers.  Once coloured I cut out the flowerpot using a Spellbinders – Curved Rectangles die and added the stitched edge using a red ProMarker.  I matt and layered onto some light blue card then onto some darker blue pearlescent card.  Onto some white card I stamped the button border, masking as I went, it was a 15cm border that I had cut to fit across the card, well you don’t see the back of the topper section do you, no need to do the full thing.  Onto some light blue card I stamped the flower flourish from the stamp set using some VersaMark ink and heat embossed with detail clear embossing powder.  I attached the button border to the light blue card and cut around the top edge to match the button border, I did the stitch effect again with the red ProMarker.  I stamped onto the ribbon using VersaCraft – Real Black ink, folded it and attached it to the back of the flowerpot topper.  The sentiment and text on the ribbon is from the ‘Grand Word Perfect 2’ stamp set from Dimension Stamps (ref: 1803069a), the text border is also part of this set of stamps, I did the stitch effect around the border before cutting it out, matt and layering onto the blue pieces of card.  I cut a piece of blue pearlescent card for the background matt and then cut some white card for the top half of the card front, I used an embossing folder on the white card but it looked a mess so I cut it into pieces and made matts for the flowerpot and the sentiment leaving the pearlescent in view for the background.  Once everything was attached to the card front, I wasn’t happy it needed something else, so I thought a bit of Glossy Accents on the buttons on the bottom of the card would lift it a bit, I even added a little bit of blue glitter.  Well, it looked a mess so I scraped it all off again before it had had a chance to dry, and on another piece of white card stamped, coloured and cut out the buttons and stuck them over the mess haha.  You would have never know if I hadn't have told you J

Dressmakers Dummy

updated 17/03/2014:  Dimension Stamps have now changed their name to Nina Crafts.

For this card I used the new stamp set from Dimension Stamps called ‘Sew Creative’ reference number 2400073a.  I stamped the dummy onto a Spellbinders – Curved Rectangles shape using VersaFine – Onyx Black and heat embossed using detail clear embossing powder.  Onto another piece of white card I stamped it out again this time in Memento – Tuxedo Black and cut out just the top section, using a Quickie Glue pen I added some black glitter to the lines, shaped it a little before layering it over the other dummy shape.  I cut the top shoulder section of the dummy to add the red fabric, this fabric is actually from a cushion cover I have (I really liked the colour and the zip had broken, my daughter was about to throw it out when I’d seen her and stopped her, she said ‘Mother, I can’t imagine for one minute you intend to put a new zip in there, what’s it for?’, once I shown her the finished card she just rolled her eyes and tutted, lol).  I added some Distress Ink – Spun Sugar around the edges of the shape before using a red ProMarker to add the stitches, I did the same for the sentiment on the side.  I used the Spellbinders Shapeabilities – Floral Flourishes to cut out two white flourishes and added the stitches using the red ProMarker.  For the background I used Distress Inks – Spun Sugar, Shaded Lilac and Tumbled Glass to add some colour blocks (using sticky notes to mask off each area) and using the same colour inks to stamp the smaller stamps in the set into each section, to finish the background I used the zig-zag stamp with Memento – Lady Bug ink across each edge of the blacks of colour.  The flower is made up of the toggle button stamp and the flower button stamp and coloured using the same inks as in the background.

Scrapbook page

updated 17/03/2014:  Dimension Stamps have now changed their name to Nina Crafts.

For this page I used some light blue papers from the Papermania Capsule Collection CD, I like using the digi papers as I can resize to suit my needs.  So I printed out an A4 piece of card with 6.5cm squares on it so I could stamp the corners in each one.  The corners are stamps from the ‘Seasons around the Corner’ stamp set from Dimension Stamps reference number 2400071a, I used VersaFine – Deep Lagoon ink and heat embossed with detail clear embossing powder, then cut eight of the corners out and arranged them down each side of the page.  I used the ‘Icicle’ die from Marianne Designs to cut out three icicles and using a Quickie Glue pen added some glitter.  To cover the joins in the row of icicles I took the backs of two snowflake brads before gluing in place with silicone glue.  I used the ‘Grand Word Perfect 2’ from Dimension Stamps reference number 1803069a for the text along the ribbon, I stamped it using VersaCraft – Real Black ink.  Before I glittered the last icicle I stamped the text along it using the ‘Alphabet 7’ stamp set again from Dimension Stamps reference number 1801009a.  I matted the photograph and the blue patch paper onto some brown card to tie it in with the brickwork in the photograph, adding some glitter to the outside edge of the white card on the photograph to finish.

Class Card - October 2012

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

This is the card we made in class last Thursday at Dimension Stamps and repeated last night, the Monday night ladies didn't want to miss out so that's why the session is repeated.
The house is from this month's project club at Dimension Stamps and the set is called 'Seasonal House' reference number 2300061a.  The tree is a little set of its own and will be available on the website soon, both sets complement each other and that's the theme of the class, using the project club stamps and another specially made stamp, this stamp is actually free to class members on the day or evening.
The stamp I used on the base of the card is called 'Swirly Leaves' reference number 0604075a from Dimension Stamps.  I used dies for the clouds and for the fence, the clouds are from Memory Box and are called 'Puffy Clouds' and the fence is from Die-namics and that is called 'Woodgrain Fence', you can actually see the grain in the wood without having to cut out then emboss, it does it all in one pass through the Cuttlebug.  Just a quick mention about the brown card it's from Ross Papercraft, I really like the quality and price of their card and paper so check out their website for events near you.

Rita's Birthday

Well it's been as while, but I've had loads to do, and now looking back I seem to have done nothing lol.

I have been having a look through my stash and I have loads of really nice card and paper, you know what it's like you buy it and never use it.  Well I'm making a point of using some of that stash up or I will be knee deep in it.  This paper is from Hot of the Press, it also had a sheet of sentiments with it, so I used one for the inside.  I very nearly didn't use it, my will power was fading, so I scored the gatefold base card, matt and layered some brown card onto some rainbow mirri and last of all added the paper.  I used a pink pearl brad for the happy birthday and the butterfly was from a set I've had for a while again from the stash but the colours matched.  Once made, I remembered who the card was for and she is definitely worth my good stuff lol
