Project Club - September 2012 » Main Card «

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

This month’s project club stamps have the under the sea theme. This is a really useful set of stamps, and I think you will be able to dip into them for all sorts of watery projects. Hope you enjoy your stamps.

This is the finished card.
Cut out all your pieces of card as per instruction sheet.
Using the white piece of card, the blue ink and your blending brush, apply ink lightly across the white card, trying to keep the direction of the ink going from left to right.  Don't worry if the ink isn't an even covering, it really doesn't matter as the sea isn't all one colour.
Next use the seaweed and coral stamp and the blue ink and stamp along the bottom of the card leaving about a half centimetre of white at the bottom of the card.
Using a waterbrush and the red and green inks colour the seaweed and coral.

Add some wavy lines with the white gel pen.  Use the clear drying PVA glue along the bottom, covering up the shale below the seaweed right down to the base of the piece of card.
Sprinkle the decorative sand so it covers the PVA glue and gently pat it into the PVA using your fingers.  Leave it to dry completely before attaching to the main card.  If you have gaps appearing whilst the card is drying, just add some more PVA and a little more decorative sand.
On the remaining white card, dust it with the anti-static bag.  Using the black ink, stamp and heat emboss the seahorse, the fish, the crab and the sentiment.
Use your pens or pencils to colour the images.  Cut around the sentiment and using the blending brush lightly apply some blue ink. Lay the ink pad flat on your work surface and lightly run the edge of the sentiment along the ink pad, this will give you a little blue border around the sentiment. Leave to dry.
Cut out the seahorse, the crab and the fish leaving a small white border all around each one.
Using the shell flourish and VersaMark ink, stamp and heat emboss twice on the top of the coloured piece of card.  I found this easier to do by putting a little pencil mark in the middle of the top edge of the card before stamping.  Use a white Gell pen highlight some of the dots and flourishes.
Use your corner rounded to the two top corners of both the coloured card and the white base card.  Matt and layer the pieces of card to the base card, then use foam pads on the back of the sentiment.  Slightly shape the fish, seahorse and the crab before applying silicone glue to fix to the card front.

Happy crafting, Jackie J
