Small Poinsettia

updated 17/03/2014:  Dimension Stamps have now changed their name to Nina Crafts.

I wanted to do a frosty card so using the new set from Dimension Stamps called ‘A Christmas Star’ reference number 2400069a.  I used the small poinsettia stamp and used the cyan ink pad from the Color Box Pigment Ink - Surf’s Up! set, with some detail clear embossing powder.  I stamped the poinsettia four times and stamped the top of the ribbon one extra time.  I coloured the ribbon edge with a ProMarker – Artic Blue and added some glitter using a Quickie Glue pen.  I used my Spellbinder dies to cut out the Circle and the Lacey Circle and an M-Bossabilities folder – Paisley to emboss the white circle.  I stamped the background used the same ink and embossing powder and added some of the glitter just to highlight.  I added some grosgrain spotty ribbon and used some foam tape to the back of the circles and used some silicone glue to attach the poinsettia.

Old time Lantern Light

updated 17/03/2014:  Dimension Stamps have now changed their name to Nina Crafts.

My daughter was about four when she asked my mum, 'why was everything in black and white Grandma, when you were little', well my mum's face, wish I'd had the camera ready for that one lol.

I have wanted to do this card for a while, I’m really liking the monotones again at the moment.  So for this card I used the Pink Petticoat – Sprinkled with Twinkles paper for the background and just added some glitter using a Quickie Glue pen.  The lantern is from Dimension Stamps and is from a set called ‘A Festive Night by Lantern Light’ reference number 2400068a, I stamped the lantern using VersaFine – Onyx Black and heat embossed with detail clear embossing powder.  I then coloured in with ProMarkers, I used the full set of five Warm Greys, Cool Grey 1 and the Black.  I used the Woodware Inverted Corner Rounder and some adhesive pearls.  I finished off using some glitter on the ribbon, randomly on the holly and ivy and finally adding some Glossy Accents to the glass area of the lantern before very lightly sprinkling some of the glitter into it.
Thanks for looking J

Large Poinsettia

updated 17/03/2014:  Dimension Stamps have now changed their name to Nina Crafts.

The new set of stamps from Dimension Stamps are called ‘A Christmas Star’ reference number 2400069a.  I used the largest poinsettia stamp for this card, I used some Christmas papers I have in my stash, they are not really what I’d like to use on any detail card because they are a little too dark for my liking, but thought they would work well for this type of effect.  So I stamped the poinsettia first onto some cream pearlescent card using VersaFine – Onyx Black and heat embossed with some Disco Black embossing powder, then using the same powders I stamped onto the paper, one layer on the green and four layers for the dark red.  Once cut out I used some silicone glue on the layers to build the poinsettia but it looked a little too dull so I lightly sprayed some Crafters Companion Spray and Shine over the poinsettia and allowed to dry before attaching to the card.  I had some of the green paper left over, it was form a 6 x 6 paper pad, so using a Spellbinder die I drew around it and cut out the shape before stamping and heat embossing the leaves.  I matted onto some gold mirri card before attaching to a cream card base.  I wish I hadn’t sprayed the poinsettia because the Disco Black embossing powder would have been a little shiner if I’d have just left it, never mind we live and learn lol.
