Class Card - July 2012

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

This is July’s class card, we used the July Project Club stamp set – ‘Classy Cocktails’ and the freebie class stamp this month is the ‘Pineapple Cocktail’
I had some Internet issues yesterday and couldn't finish off posting the project club cards and the class card, so sorry if you were looking for them.

I really do enjoy our monthly classes, we all have a good old natter, so much so we didn't actually have time to finish off the card, so ladies this is how to finish it off.

This is where we got up to, I thought I’d show you this photo of the different layers. Attaching the foam pads – the base layer will be fixed straight onto the card so will not need any foam pads. Layer one needs some on, cut a foam pad into three little strips to add them to the back of the straw (little fiddly but they will be thin enough not to see when the card is finished). Add foam pads to the last two layers.
Using the deckle edged piece of white card and any light green ink, lightly ink all over this piece of card. This is just to take off the white, it needs toning down, the white is far too much. Don’t worry if you get little lines in the ink it will give it some texture, just keep it light. Stamp the sentiment in the corner using the Memento black (the card isn't square so check your corner). Cut off some of the white ribbon and attach to the corner of this piece of card by sticking a couple of little pieces of double sided tape on the back. Attach this card with ribbon on to the green background card, use a glue stick or some PVA glue because the textured, slightly shiny background won’t like double sided tape.

Attach your coloured panel to the other side of the green card, again use a glue stick or PVA.

Cut some ribbon and attach it to the gap in the pieces of card using double sided tape on the back. Now attach the green card to the base card, you could use double sided tape here because of the matt finish on the back of the green card.

Attach the base layer of the image to the front of the card, using a glue stick, silicone or PVA glue, this will help you to slightly move it into place. Now removing the foam pad backs, layer up the image.

With the remaining bit off ribbon, make a bow and attach to the card, I used glue dots but you could use silicone. Add the little gems and attach the cherry to the corner, (give the cherry a little bit of shape before attaching) you could use a foam pad, silicone glue to attach.

To finish off I used a little Glossy Accents, I was hoping for some more bubbles on the glass but it didn't happen, if I want them I can’t, if I don’t want them I get loads lol.

I'm not really surprised we didn’t finish this month, there was a lot to do, and we all did have a lot tips and techniques etc. to natter about. To all who can’t make it next month, enjoy your holidays.

Thanks for coming
